Dajaj bel zabady (chicken with yogurt)

1 chicken cut into 6 to 8.
1 teaspoon salt or to taste .
1 teaspoon grama masala.
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander.
1 teaspoon paprika.
1/8 teaspoon chili powder.
1 tablespoon olive oil or corn oil.
1 large onion, chopped.
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger.
2 cloves garlic, crushed.
4 cardamom pods.
1 cinnamon stick.
2 large tomatoes, chopped.
2 Tablespoons white vinegar.
2 Tablespoons tomato paste.
1/2 cup water or chicken stock .
2 cups yogurt .


1)saute onion with oil adds garlic, ginger, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, stir, cook for 5 minutes.

2)add chicken, ground spices, salt stir the mixture until chicken is brown, add vinegar, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, yogurt, stir, simmer ,covered, about 30 to 40 minutes or until chicken is tender .






3-Serve it with pita bread or cooked basmati rice.

Yoghurt curry is alway a nice one. You are adding lots of very fragrant sweetish spices, this must have been a feast for eyes and nose, particularly. Thanx for sharing ...

I never expected this much delicious dish in Arabic cuisine. I only knew that Arab don't eat spicy foods.
