You bake so many interesting breads. I've been a fan since finding your posts on The Fresh Loaf.

they look absolutely delicious and healthy too. Is just 5 minutes rising time enough at any weather? no doubling the dough?

Oh understand... it has no yeast... will try and let you know. Thanks!

I love using dates in baked goods and so this is something I am going to try soon. This recipe reminds me of ma'amoul. Can I make the dough with semm butter?

Thank you all for your nice comments.

pickyeater,
You can use butter but you will end up with ma'amoul not the gulf Baid Alqata.

i don't want to bother you but would you by chance have a recipe for basbousa? My hubby loves it and i don't know anyone that knows how to make it good (unless of course you count Shatila.. but their version is too sweet for my taste) i knew only 1 woman (syrian) that could make it very good (better than shatila in my opinion) but she moved away and i have lost contact with her. Inshallah you will post soon..

Thanks so much for all your posts, have tried a few recipes and they turned out far better than i had expected however i was not able to make them look as good as you do.
